Retreat Itinerary

Pathway to Beach

1

Day One:

Join us as we embark on a new way to love and communicate with one another. We will learn about common relationship dynamics, practice core communication skills, and learn more about what makes your love special and worth cultivating.

2

Day Two:

On day two, we will dive deeper into how to process through difficult conversations. Through group discussion and individualized couple's sessions, we will explore what raw spots come up within your relationship and how to tackle them without adding to the hurt.

3

Day Three:

In our last day together, we will summarize takeaways and learn how to integrate them back into your day-to-day life - making the changes that we built together last a lifetime. The opportunity to extend the retreat with more intensive, personalized sessions will be offered as well.

What's included:

Retreats are expensive. Why should we choose this option?

Retreats aren't for everyone. They aren't covered by insurance (though neither is most couple's therapy), and they can seem like an emotional marathon that just might feel like too much.

At the same time, they are also an opportunity to dig deeper into patterns without distractions, without losing momentum, and while you and your partner are focused on the task at hand. A couple's therapy retreat lets you practice skills in real time, such as emotional regulation, communicating needs, and repairing ruptures.

In a retreat, you're not waiting 7 days between sessions. Intensive couple's work can accelerate patterns of change and create more space for emotional breakthroughs, that can often take months of weekly therapy sessions. The cost comparison of weekly therapy vs. retreats is minimal, with 3 days of concentrated couple's therapy costing roughly the same as 12 weekly sessions. The price of making a profound change in your relationship sooner is invaluable - offering more time to spend with your partner feeling loved, secure, and supported.

We're really stuck. What if a retreat isn't enough?

The retreat is an excellent place to accelerate changes within a relationship, but it's not the only option. For couples with more entrenched issues, combining a retreat with follow-up sessions can create sustainable change for the long-term. Both lead therapists Annie and Hannah can continue building on the foundation created at the retreat and support you beyond with personalized sessions.

Sustainable Relationship Changes

The true value of a couple's retreat is an intrinsic one - the opportunity to vastly improve your relationship in a focus, concentrated amount of time. You'll learn and practice new skills in real time, which allows for profound changes in a short amount of time. All participants will take home materials from the workshops that provide refresher materials, activities, and tools to continue the journey towards emotional connection long into the future.
